I approach art-making with an intuitive, expressionistic and 'fauvist' style. In my visual work, I am found playing with color, light and text to demonstrate a worldview that is vibrant, poetic and romantic. My preferred visual medium is gouache paint on canvas or paper, which I’m drawn to as a paint for its opaque nature on darker backgrounds. I am interested in light and color and their ability to pierce through the darkness, both literally and conceptually.
As a producer, singer and DJ, my explorations involve collaging culturally rich sounds and textures with contemporary production styles, crooner vocals and poetic lyricism. I aim to create colorful uplifting musical experiences that draw from fusion, remix and diasporic cultures that relate to my lineage.
